The Spring Retreat of Midwest Churches was held at Great Commission University campus from April 28 through 30, and concluded with the closing and Sunday service.
Abundant grace was given through the word that was taught, through prayer, sharing and fellowship.
The Bible studies and sermons taught on the four spiritual themes of Creation, Sin, Salvation in Christ, Kingdom of God.
The Sunday service presented the concluding lecture on God’s Kingdom, preached by Pastor Nicolas:
The preacher began with a survey of how the Bible talks about kingdoms, with the first mention found in Genesis 10:10.
Various passages of the Old and New Testaments on the kingdom were examined, concluding with the statement that the final consummation of God’s Kingdom is achieved once the knowledge of God “covers the earth as the water covers the sea” (Isaiah 11:9).
The preacher emphasized further that each one has to accept the kingdom in their heart, as the most precious and most important thing above all, as described in the parables on the treasure in the field and the pearl who were obtained by giving up all other things.
A time of sharing and fellowship was held after the service, following that the visiting missionaries with their bible students returned to their mission fields.
GCU members give thanks to the Lord for providing the campus as a convenient venue where missionaries can gather and young students be taught to grow in faith.
