Joyful participants of Great Commission University’s public service and presentation.
Howe, IN. Great Commission University (GCU) gave a public service with following presentation of its purpose, vision and plans to the public audience. Contributions to the event were given by visiting representatives of the World Olivet Assembly (WOA) and affiliated ministries, and by representatives of the local community.
GCU Chairman Nicolas Haman guided the audience as presider through the program. The music was provided by Jubilee World, whose praise team filled the chapel with holy worship, touching and refreshing everyone’s heart. Pastor Thurston Jones, the last Chaplain of Howe Military Academy, gave an encouraging opening prayer to the service.
A soprano solo performed by Jubilee World singer Aria Reppert enthralled the audience in the beginning of the service and prepared their hearts to receive more grace which God gave during the event.
GCU President Paul Foerster preached the sermon based on Mark 16:15 and Matthew 28:18-20, unfolding the significance of the Great Commission for the church as well as for each individual Christian, and its relation to the purpose and vision of Great Commission University.
Following the service, presentations introduced Great Commission University to the public audience, explaining its background, purpose and denominational affiliation.
Phil Malone, former President of Howe Military Academy, gave a word of greeting and welcome to GCU.
Visiting General Secretary of World Olivet Assembly (WOA), Pastor Mark Spisak, showed the bigger picture of WOA with the specific role of GCU as educator for those who commit to vocational ministry with one of the various affiliated ministries.
Paul Foerster explained in detail the vision of GCU and its academic profile and program.
Pastor Thurston Jones gave a reflection on his role as Chaplain of the former school on campus, and the transition process to the new school, GCU.
The event concluded with a fellowship on campus, which provided the opportunity for sharing and conversations among the participants.
“We give all praise and thanks to the Lord, whose gracious hands have been with us since we moved to the campus and also guided today’s event,” concluded one Great Commission University leader.
