At Great Commission University (GCU), we believe in the importance of putting faith into action through meaningful service to local communities and various community service activities. Our Christian Service Program is designed to connect students with practical ministry experiences that allow them to live out their faith while contributing positively to the world around them.
The Christian Service (CS) Program aims to empower students to:
Apply Biblical Principles: Students are encouraged to integrate the Biblical teachings they learn in the classroom with real-life situations encountered in church and Christian fellowship settings.
Exercise Leadership Skills: Through service activities within small groups in churches or Christian fellowships, students have the opportunity to develop and practice their leadership abilities.
Demonstrate Faithful Discipleship: Participants are expected to exhibit a commitment to Jesus Christ and His Church by engaging in regular church attendance, prayer, Bible study, and evangelism.
Cultivate Christ-like Character: The program encourages attitudes and values that align with the development of a Christ-like character, fostering personal growth and spiritual maturity.
Discover and Utilize Spiritual Gifts: Students are guided to seek, identify, and appreciate their unique gifts, learning how to apply these in various ministry contexts.
Collaborate in Ministry Teams: Participants will experience the dynamics and strengths of working within diverse ministry teams, recognizing the power of collaboration among individuals with differing gifts and talents.
Through the Christian Service Program, GCU aims to cultivate a culture of service that not only benefits the community but also enriches the spiritual journey of our students, preparing them to be effective leaders and compassionate servants in their future ministries.
